Noeo Science experiment pictures
January 31, 2007
Here are some pictures of our experiements with science… the first is our yeast experiment to see how yeast grew. We made bread after that. Keeping in mind that we had been studying and growing bacteria as well this week, when I asked Keenan why the bread raised he told me “Because it has a warm infection” – kind of sort of!!

Next is a series of our blood circulation experiments. I take pics to put in his Science Notebook… It reminds him what we did, minimizes the writing needed… and it looks good!
1. home made stethoscope – it worked too!
2. felt heart and lungs velcroed to shirt… we’ll add more organs later as we study them
3. little model of blood pumping into the body and back to the heart

OK, now I never want to eat bread again. *grin*

“Warm infection” … I like that.
The pictures are terrific – and very inspiring. James did the yeast experiments too, and thought the petrie dishes (weeks later) looked thoroughly disgusting. That is a ringing endorsement from an 8-year-old boy. (The yuckier the better!)

You’re such a good home-school mamma. Man, I am terrible at the hands-on stuff. Love the photos – cool stuff.

Wow! I’m so impressed, Renee! What super projects–they will probably always remember these times. Out of all we have done in homeschooling, my kids remember the hands-on stuff the most (which unfortunately take the most energy and planning).
“Warm infection” is just hilarious. It’s great you’re recording these gems.
